Opera Royal at Versailles

I had the great privelege of attending a performance of Médée by Marc-Antoine Charpentier at the Royal Opera house in the Chateau of Versailles. And not only was it an amazing performance, I was seated in the Loge du Roi! So basically, I’m sitting in Louis XIV’s box watching an opera that was written for him and that he may even have watched from this same seat! How about that?
